Authorities seek help identifying vandals
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying whoever was responsible for vandalizing a Clifton Water District water tank facility between May 11 and May 19, the agency wrote in a press release Tuesday.
Someone damaged fencing and stole a federally required obstruction warning light from the facility in the 3100 block of N. Interstate 70 Frontage Road, causing $3,200 in damage, the release said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 242-6707 in reference to case 17-173311. Alternately, tipsters may call Crime Stoppers at 241-7867 to remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Someone broke into a car in the 1200 block of Cannell Avenue on July 17 and stole property worth less than $50.
■ Joseph Bandarra, 30, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting July 22.
■ Someone stole property worth more than $2,000 from the 600 block of 25 Road on Wednesday.
■ James West, 50, is accused of driving under the influence Friday.
■ Someone broke into vehicles in the 2900 block of E. Erika Court on Sunday, causing damage and stealing property for a loss of more than $300.
■ Nellie Brewer, 20, is accused of trespassing, assault, harassment and domestic violence Monday.
■ Someone broke into a trailer in the 2600 block of Liberty Lane and stole property worth more than $5,000 on Saturday.
■ Faith Schultz, 42, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting Monday.
■ Someone created counterfeit money that was found in the 1000 block of Rood Avenue on Tuesday.
■ Someone stole an orange power washer from a shed in the 2800 block of Orchard Avenue on Friday.
■ Joshua Lambuth, 45, is accused of harassment Tuesday.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Someone stole a bicycle from the 200 block of Huffer Lane on July 25.
■ Someone burglarized property in the 3000 block of Vin Rose Way on July 20.
■ James Westbrook, 32, is accused of slashing tires on two vehicles in the 3000 block of DuPont Court on Sunday.
■ Eric Sharp, 37, is accused of domestic violence and drug-related charges Tuesday.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Marvin Balmer, 70, was cited on suspicion of driving while ability impaired Tuesday.
■ A deputy responded to a report of a baby locked in a car in the 67600 block of Lisa Court, but before the deputy arrived someone broke the car window and took the child out.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Celsea Killian, 21, is accused of assault, kidnapping and domestic violence Monday.
■ Johnnie Pinela, 37, is accused of harassment and domestic violence Monday.
