Male gunshot victim, 19, treated

A 19-year-old man reportedly received non-life threatening gunshot wounds during an incident Saturday morning in the 200 block of Beaver Street, according to a press release from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.

The man, who wasn’t identified, reportedly was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by private vehicle before deputies arrived. A second victim, also a 19-year-old man, reportedly was assaulted but not shot, the release said.

This case is still under investigation.

Both the Sheriff’s Office and Grand Junction Police Department responded to the scene at 2:19 a.m. on reports of “shots fired.”

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■  A report of unlawful sexual contact is being investigated in the southern part of the city. A report was made Monday.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office did not release a booking summary or activity log Saturday.
