Thieves target copper wire
Crime Stoppers of Mesa County is seeking information about a recent theft of copper wiring, cut from two heating and cooling units on the roof of Big Lots, 2401 North Ave.
The total estimated property loss and damage was more than $35,000.
Crime Stoppers asks anyone with information about the incident to call 241-STOP. Information can be left anonymously and could earn a reward of up to $1,000. Find more information at http://www.241stop.com.
Bikes, rack reported stolen
A man reported on Dec. 13 that two bikes, along with a bike carrier, were taken from his vehicle parked in the Bangs Canyon trail system area.
The bikes are valued at $6,200, and the carrier is valued at $440.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Daniel Lloyd, 57, is alleged to have violated a protection order by contacting someone in the 2900 block of Brook View Drive on Dec. 20.
■ Samuel Daves, 18, is accused of careless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and underage consumption of alcohol.
■ Someone unlawfully entered a residence in the 500 block of 28 1/2 Road and stole a television valued at less than $1,000 on Dec. 17.
■ Tina Shook, 49, was involved in a traffic accident at 12th Street and Elm Avenue on Dec. 22, and was subsequently arrested and accused of DUI, careless driving and failure to present insurance.
■ Amy Mascarenas, 27, was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting less than $100 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 2545 Rimrock Ave., on Dec. 22.
■ Anthony Simpson, 36, was arrested and released on a summons for indecent exposure and being intoxicated in the roadway on Dec. 23.
■ Janet Lobato, 46, is accused of causing less than $500 damage to a victim’s property, causing injury to the victim, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
■ Someone stole items valued at more than $1,000 from the 1600 block of Dolores Street on Nov. 14.
■ Someone stole items valued at more than $1,000 from a vehicle parked in the 2700 block of B 1/2 Road on Dec. 22.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department
■ Taren Amsberry, 32, is accused of theft from another inmate at the Mesa County Jail on Dec. 11.
■ Someone stole a purse and other items from an unlocked vehicle on Dec. 22.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Alexander Gullotta, 43, is accused of domestic violence, third-degree assault and driving under restraint.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Two sex offenses, one in New Castle and another near Glenwood Springs, were reported on Wednesday.
