Bad weather in Piceance keeps workers in vehicle
• Two rig workers were in good condition Friday after spending Christmas night in their vehicle when they were hampered by bad weather on their way down from a drilling site in the Piceance Creek area.
Robert A. Harvey and Jim Landrum were driving from a Nabors rig and failed to show up at a man camp, prompting a call to emergency dispatchers at about 9:20 p.m. Thursday, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Garfield Search and Rescue members found the two on the NTW Ranch Road at about 1 p.m.
The two were working at a well Nabors is drilling for Williams Production RMT.
Williams spokesperson Donna Gray said the men reportedly had become disoriented.
Garfield sheriff’s spokesperson Holly Hopple said the men suffered no frostbite or other injuries.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
• Wayne Damico, 45, 2380 E. Piazza Place, was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of vandalism after he punched a hole in the drywall at his home. Damico was booked into Mesa County Jail later that day.
• A burglar stole property worth more than $1,000 from a home in the 2900 block of F Road sometime Wednesday morning.
