Report: Son assaults mom
The Montrose Police Department referred a case to the District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges involving a 14-year-old boy who reportedly placed his mother in a “headlock” after the boy had been told to do something by his mother, according to Police Chief Tom Chinn. The nature of the disagreement, which happened Tuesday at a home in the 600 block of Roma Court, wasn’t confirmed.
Middle school girls fight
Grand Junction police took a report of a Feb. 5 incident at Bookcliff Middle School, 2935 Orchard Ave., involving a girl who tried to provoke another girl into a fight. One of the girls reportedly threw rocks at the other.
Mom’s pot pipe at school
Five juveniles, ages 13 to 15, were issued tickets after Grand Junction police officers responded Feb. 7 to a report of a student under the influence of marijuana at Bookcliff Middle School, 2935 Orchard Ave. Investigation showed a boy had stolen his mother’s marijuana pipe and shared it with friends at school, police spokeswoman Kate Porras said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ A loss of less than $500 was reported after someone entered a parked vehicle Monday in the 700 block of Grand Avenue and stole a wallet.
■ Anthony Kelleher, 18, was cited Monday on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia at 515 Court Road, Unit 207.
■ Ericka Arias, 22, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting Sunday at Mesa Mall, 2424 U.S. Highway 6&50.
■ Braxton Henderson, 18, was cited Sunday on suspicion of theft at Walmart, 2881 North Ave., and possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana.
■ A 13-year-old girl was cited Feb. 6 on suspicion of possession of marijuana at Orchard Mesa Middle School, 2736 C Road.
According to the Montrose Police Department:
■ Officers took a theft report Tuesday from a woman in the 3500 block of Wolverine Drive. An investigation continues.
■ Unspecified items were reportedly stolen from a vehicle Tuesday parked in the 1600 block of East Main Street.
■ Lisa Quinones, 40, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting Tuesday in the 16400 block of South Townsend Avenue.
■ Daniel Tonjes, 18, was cited Tuesday on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia in the 2100 block of South Townsend Ave.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Deputies were called to handle reports of stray dogs in the 1400 block of Black Canyon Road, mile marker 125 on U.S. Highway 550 and the 62100 block of Oak Grove Road, all on Tuesday.
■ A resident of Olathe turned over marijuana over to a deputy Tuesday in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 50 Business Loop.
