Sisters tell twisted tale
Mesa County sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 600 block of Country Court Thursday on a report of two sisters fighting.
The 22-year-old sister told deputies that she and her 17-year-old sister had a verbal and physical fight over cigarettes and their 1-year-old niece, according to a report of the incident. The 22-year-old told deputies that the 17-year-old had punched her, but the 17-year-old told deputies the 22-year-old had punched her, according to a report.
The two also had differing stories about who was supposed to take care of their niece. Deputies spoke with the 22-year-old’s roommate, who didn’t want to comment about what he saw, according to the report, and with the mother of the sisters’ niece.
Ultimately, their grandmother came to the residence to pick up the 17-year-old and the 1-year-old, and no charges were filed.
