Garage in Clifton burns
Clifton firefighters extinguished a house fire early Saturday at 494 Chatfield Circle. The blaze was estimated to have caused some $250,000 in damage.
Crews responded at 12:10 a.m. to the home owned by Tim and Denise Denning and saw that a garage at the home was engulfed by flames. All occupants of the home escaped the fire and there were no injuries, according to fire officials.
The cause and origin of the fire were still under investigation.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Denise Johann, 42, was arrested Feb. 9 on suspicion of burglary and theft at Walmart, 2881 North Ave.
■ Bryan Cognetti, 40, received a summons on suspicion of disorderly conduct at 200 Rood Ave. on Tuesday.
■ Two teenage girls, ages 13 and 14, received summonses on suspicion of disorderly conduct at Pine Street and Unaweep Avenue on Wednesday.
■ Bobby Turley, 27, was arrested Wednesday in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 6&50 after an investigation revealed that another’s person identification was used to obtain funds of less than $500.
■ Caiden Sorensen, 19, received a summons on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia in the 1200 block of Cannell Avenue on Wednesday.
■ James Simmerman, 24, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol in the area of 12th Street and North Avenue.
■ Someone stole a vehicle valued at more than $5,000 from the 600 block of Hudson Avenue on Thursday.
