Checkpoints set for today

Colorado State Patrol and other law enforcement agencies will be conducting checkpoints seeking intoxicated drivers today. Locations of checkpoints and increased patrols will be visible throughout Mesa County, the State Patrol said. The department does not release in advance the locations of its checkpoints.


According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Henry William Arrington, 48, West Virginia, was arrested Friday on suspicion of criminal mischief, false imprisonment, third-degree assault and obstructing a telephone.

■ Dandre Stephens, 18, and Jerica Fejeran, 20, received summonses on suspicion of discharging firearms in the area of U.S. Highway 6&50 and Rimrock Avenue on Thursday.

■ Three juveniles received summonses on suspicion of shoplifting from Mesa Mall on Friday.

■ A girl reported a sex assault by an unknown man Oct. 31, 2012, in the southwest side of the city.


According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

■ A bicycle was stolen from the porch of a home in the 2900 block of North Avenue on Wednesday.

■ On Monday, deputies located a boy on the campus of Central High School, 500 Warrior Way, who was not a student. The boy received a summons for trespassing and was escorted off the property.


According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

Deputies were advised of suspicious activity near some natural gas wells in the area of Horse Canyon 45 1/2 Road.
