Stolen guns show up
Joshua Garcia, 25, is accused of theft, false reporting to authorities and prohibitive acts after a number of stolen guns turned up at the High Desert Trading Post. Pawn slips for four of the stolen guns were allegedly signed for by Garcia.
Stolen items reportedly included a Smith and Wesson pistol valued at $650, a .22-caliber Ruger revolver valued at $300, a 1917 Springfield 30-06 valued at $700, a .338 Mauser valued at $800, and a number of gold watches, among other firearms and items.
Garcia is accused of stealing the property from the father of his mother-in-law, an arrest affidavit said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Joseph Casarez, 29, is accused of harassing a woman at 2850 Chipeta Ave. on Feb. 18.
■ Karen Bishop, 50, was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at 200 Rood Ave. on Feb. 18.
■ John Tobin, 23, is accused of violating a restraining order at 935 N. First Street on Feb. 19.
■ Someone used another’s identity to obtain employment in the 2400 block of Patterson Road on Nov. 1. An investigation is ongoing.
■ Esther Chang, 20, is accused of shoplifting at 200 Rood Ave. on Feb. 19.
■ Jon Stetzel, 25, and Eric Stetzel, 49, are accused of trespassing at 2936 North Ave. on Thursday.
