Sex offender re-registers
Chad Heiden, 43, of Grand Junction, changed his sex offender registration information from being with the Grand Junction Police Department to being with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office as of Feb. 14, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
Heiden already served his sentence in the Colorado Department of Corrections prison system. He has been and remains current with all his registration requirements, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
He transitioned into Community Corrections while under the supervision of a local parole agent, who continues to supervise him, the Sheriff’s Office said.
According to Grand Junction Police Department:
■ An unknown driver took control of a motor vehicle without permission on the west side of the city shortly after 3 a.m. Feb. 15 and caused around $20,000 damage.
■ Unknown suspects stole about $2,000 worth of merchandise in a fraud by stolen credit card on the east side of the city around 5 a.m. Feb. 6.
■ A known juvenile, 16, was arrested on charges of harassment, domestic violence and possession of marijuana on the northwest side of the city shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday.
■ Tavis Williams, 34, was arrested after being stopped shortly after 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Fifth and Main streets. A roadside investigation showed Williams was suspected of driving under the influence on a license revoked for a previous DUI and lacked proof of insurance.
■ Randy Kipp, 53, was arrested shortly after midnight Friday near the intersection of 28 1/2 Road and Belford Avenue on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and outstanding warrants.
