Texts a cause for worry

A 14-year-old girl received texts from a friend who said he was suicidal, and then the girl received death threats from the friend, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

The boy, also 14, admitted to his parents that he sent the text messages to the girl, the Sheriff’s Department said, and the boy’s parents took him to Colorado West Mental Health.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Guillermo Preciado-Michel, 23, and Claudia Juarez-Dominguez, 32, were arrested Tuesday on Interstate 70 on suspicion of methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute.

■ Property valued at less than $20,000 was stolen from a home in the 1900 block of Barcelona Way on Feb. 15.

■  Kenneth Sample, 42, was issued a summons on suspicion of being intoxicated in the roadway in the area of Fifth Street and Grand Avenue on Wednesday.

■  Someone passed a counterfeit bill at the Rimrock Shopping Center on Tuesday, causing a business losses of less than $500.
