Vehicle stopped; 2 arrests
Rayne Angyl Brown, 29, 608 Rico Way, was arrested Tuesday evening at 29 1/2 Road and Orchard Avenue on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department, deputies stopped a vehicle in which four people were riding and the driver consented to a search of the vehicle. Deputies found a hypodermic needle on Brown, according to an arrest affidavit, and when a deputy asked her if she had anything else on her person, she replied, “If I do it might be in my bra.”
Inside a black wallet that was on the floor of the back passenger area, deputies found a baggie containing a crystalline substance that tested presumptive positive for meth, according to the arrest affidavit.
During the same incident, Philip Anthony Litsheim, 27, 264 Independent Ave., was arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon as a previous offender. According to the affidavit, deputies found a handgun in the back waistband of his pants.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Jarod Butchko, 18, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 400 block of Independent Avenue on suspicion of damaging property.
■ A man harassed, assaulted and falsely imprisoned his wife and interfered with Colorado Mesa University staff while trespassing on the campus Saturday night.
■ Isaac Ray Herrera, 30, 2316 Orchard Ave., was arrested Monday night in the 1900 block of Main Street on suspicion of violating a protection order.
■ Someone damaged property valued at more than $1,000 in the 2400 block of Hidden Valley Drive early Tuesday morning.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Mesa County Search and Rescue assisted the Lower Valley Fire Protection District Monday night after a woman drove her car onto the Colorado River ice. The vehicle broke through the ice and its wheels submerged. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries.
According to the Fruita Police Department:
■ A hit-and-run accident occurred at Rimrock Elementary School Jan. 25. A witness got the license plate number of the fleeing vehicle.
■ Veronica Degollado, 31, was issued a summons Jan. 31 on suspicion of following too closely and driving her vehicle into the side of another vehicle that was turning into the same driveway as she.
■ A 17-year-old boy was arrested at 18 Road and Wildcat Avenue Friday on suspicion of domestic violence, assault of a female and criminal mischief.
■ Stephani Jo Rezak, 20, 479 N. Mulberry St., was arrested Friday on suspicion of driving with a revoked license and failing to present proof of insurance. She also was named in an active warrant.
■ Someone kicked in the back door of a business in the 800 block of East Grand Avenue Saturday, causing about $50 in damage.
■ A window in the 600 block of Scorpio Court was broken Sunday, causing less than $500 in damage.
■ Donald Taylor Jr., 32, was issued a summons Sunday near West Aspen Avenue and South Willow Street on suspicion of driving and uninsured vehicle with a suspended license and with fictitious plates.
■ Traci Lee Reed, 39, 1229 Windsor Park Drive, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of unlawfully entering a residence and assaulting a man.
