Man runs from deputies

Kevin Anderson, 26, was arrested Tuesday night by Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of possession of a weapon by a prior offender, obstructing a peace officer, and driving with a suspended license, after Anderson allegedly fled from a vehicle as deputies were looking for him in the area of Bookcliff Avenue and Consistory Court, according to an arrest affidavit. Anderson allegedly threw away a loaded .22-caliber pistol and was contacted, and arrested, at 2683 Patterson Road, unit 3.

Predator moves to Junction


Daniel Glen Watson, 43, a state-labeled sexually violent predator, has moved to 705 29 Road, the Grand Junction Police Department said Thursday. Watson registered his move appropriately with the Police Department.

Under state law, police agencies are required to provide notification when a sexually violent predator moves into a community. Watson was convicted in 1995 of sexual assault on a child and convicted in 2001 of attempted sexual assault on a child. He wears an electronic home monitor and is under parole supervision.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■  Martin Prince, 33, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of menacing and second-degree assault, after he allegedly struck a neighbor with a piece of wood in the 500 block of 28 1/2 Road.

■  Mark Brown, 53, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of violation of a protection order at 515 28 3/4 Road.

■  Someone entered a business in the 2800 block of Printer’s Way and caused vandalism to the tune of more than $1,000 in damages.

■  More than $5,000 in items was reported stolen Thursday in a burglary at a home in the 1900 block of North 21st Street.
