Meth alleged in arrest
Elishia Dawn Geary, 27, was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of methamphetamine possession and driving with a suspended license.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Geary at 30 Road and Elm Avenue because one of the deputies recognized the Jeep she was driving and knew it belonged to a woman with a revoked license. In an arrest affidavit, the deputy reported the Jeep’s driver looked like its owner, with whom he was familiar.
After stopping her, the driver told deputies she was the sister of the Jeep’s owner, according to the affidavit, and that she, her sister and their mother look very similar. Deputies learned Geary had two active warrants and arrested her, according to the affidavit.
Once she was in the patrol vehicle and had been asked if she was carrying anything illegal, according to the affidavit, Geary pulled from the front of her pants a cloth bag containing a glass pipe with white residue and a sock containing a bag with 2.8 grams of a substance that field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.
