Man shot in Montrose

Montrose police officers responded to Montrose Memorial Hospital last week on a report that a man had been shot in the abdomen.

According to Montrose Police Chief Tom Chinn, neither the victim, Alberto Torres, 19, nor his girlfriend, who brought him to the hospital, would offer police a statement on how the shooting occurred. Chinn said the girlfriend told police she picked up Torres from a subdivision called The Bridges at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Chinn said it’s unlikely charges will be filed.
