Cops investigate hit-and run

Authorities on Tuesday were looking for the driver of a sport-utility vehicle who reportedly hit a 17-year-old girl in Clifton in the morning and fled the scene.

The accident, which involved a small, dark SUV, happened at 32 1/8 and E roads around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The SUV was reportedly traveling north on 32 1/8 Road at a high rate of speed.

The girl’s condition wasn’t immediately released.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Patrol at 249-4392.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ A woman stole items valued at more than $10,000 from a business at Mesa Mall, 2424 U.S. Highway 6&50 on Dec. 4.

■ Four juveniles ages 14, 16 and 17, received summonses on suspicion of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1400 block of N. Fifth Street on Thursday.

■ Sabrea Jones, 18, and Jeremy Sabo, 20, received summonses on suspicion of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The two were pulled over in a vehicle after a traffic stop Saturday in the area of 10th Street and North Avenue.

■ Items valued at more than $2,000 were stolen from a home in the 300 block of High Ridge Drive on Aug. 1, 2013.

■ Forrest Puerto, 32, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving with a revoked driver’s license, driving while intoxicated, and hit and run.

■ A vehicle valued at less than $2,000 was stolen from the 200 block of Allyce Avenue on Sunday.

■ Items valued at $5,000 were taken from and $1,000 in damages were caused to a business in the 700 block of 22 Road on Friday.
