Violent threats alleged

A 22-year-old man was issued a $5,000 cash-only bond in Mesa County court earlier this week, accused of making violent threats and harassing the mother of his children.

It’s alleged that Cody Shilling demanded to see his two children, at one point doing so with a large hunting knife tucked into his pocket, and also threatening to kill the woman if she did not comply.

He allegedly threatened the lives of others as well, according to arresting documents.

He faces possible charges of felony menacing and harassment, with a domestic violence-related enhancer as well.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Moniquea DeHererra-Derra, 30, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting on Tuesday.

■ Tonya Ramirez-Marquez, 32, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting on Tuesday.

■ Tyler Smith, 21, is accused of obstruction, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender on Thursday.

■ A vehicle was allegedly stolen from the 2500 block of Patterson Road on Thursday.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ James Bell, 57, was cited on suspicion of DUI and speeding on Tuesday.

■ A vehicle was reported stolen in the 3000 block of Goldfinch Court on Wednesday.

■ Everado Ponce-Abriz, 34, is accused of domestic violence-related charges on Thursday.

 

According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Michael F. McCullough, 34, Montrose, is accused of domestic violence, third-degree assault, and obstruction of phone service on Thursday.

■ Shane A. Brown, 52, Montrose, is accused of disorderly conduct on Friday.
