Drowned man identified
A man whose body was found in the Colorado River near Rifle Saturday has been identified as 61-year-old George Hoskovec.
According to the Garfield County Coroner’s Office, the cause of death was drowning. Hoskovec’s identity was verified by a fingerprint match made by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
The case remains open pending autopsy results, but no foul play is suspected, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Warrant in bank robbery
Glenwood Springs police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Jack Lee Wright, 52, on suspicion of robbing Alpine Bank June 30.
According to the Glenwood Springs Police Department, Lee is suspected of entering the Alpine Bank at 50891 U.S. Highway 6 in Glenwood Springs at 1:10 p.m., displaying a handgun and passing a note to one of the tellers demanding money.
After receiving the money, Wright left on foot, heading toward the Glenwood Springs Mall, according to police.
Wright is described as 5-foot-6 with blue eyes, brown salt-and-pepper hair and weighing about 160 pounds, according to police. He possibly is driving a black 2007 Dodge Ram crew cab truck with auto detailing supplies in plastic bins in the truck’s bed.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Marcus Gallegos, 32, was arrested June 27 at North Fourth Street and Teller Avenue on suspicion of hitting and pushing someone near Third Street and Belford Avenue.
■ Stephen Schwinn, 33, was arrested Friday night in the 1200 block of Gunnison Avenue on suspicion of threatening someone with a deadly weapon, assaulting that person in the presence of a police officer and obstructing an officer.
■ Jett Jaress, 22, was arrested and released on a summons Sunday morning at Texas Roadhouse, 2870 North Ave., on suspicion of theft.
■ Tiffany Stevenans, 44, was arrested and released on a summons Monday evening in the 400 block of Pitkin Avenue on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
■ Richard Rhoades, 48, was arrested and released on a summons Tuesday morning in the 1000 block of Ute Avenue on suspicion of trespassing.
■ Glen Petterson, 51, was arrested and released on a summons Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of drinking alcohol at Hawthorne Park.
■ Danielle Mackey, 31, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 1300 block of Ouray Avenue on suspicion of physically harassing someone.
■ Jared Sharpe, 27, was arrested and released on a summons Wednesday morning in the 300 block of West Orchard Avenue on suspicion of driving with a canceled license.
■ Richard Charles Owens, 41, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of Santa Clara Avenue on suspicion of violating a protection order and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.
According to the Montrose Police Department:
■ Gary Houghton, 40, and Nathan Liddell, 21, were arrested Wednesday night in the 900 block of North Cascade Avenue on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.
■ Julianna Tanner, 45, was arrested Wednesday night in the 1900 block of White House Drive on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment.
■ Jared Bolhuis, 26, was arrested Wednesday night in the 1200 block of North Second Street on suspicion of prohibited use of weapons.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Someone abandoned a dog at the Silt Police Department Tuesday morning.
■ Elana Coreen McNulty, 66, was issued a summons Tuesday afternoon in the Glenwood Springs area on suspicion of leaving a dog in a hot vehicle.
