Woman reports assault
• A woman in the 1500 block of Ouray Avenue reported Wednesday that a man broke into her home, brandished a knife and assaulted her. Officers observed superficial wounds to her throat.
She said she didn’t know the suspect, whom she described as a thin white male with brown hair. The incident is under investigation.
Man dies in rollover
• Jeremiah Branham, 28, of Montrose, was killed after rolling his Chevy Tahoe on Friday evening while driving south on Colorado Highway 133, near milepost 44, about 22 miles south of Carbondale.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, Branham’s Tahoe went off the right side of the road and rolled multiple times down a steep embankment. Branham, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
• A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault late Friday in the 1400 block of Wellington Avenue.
•Thomas R. Morrison, address unknown, and a juvenile boy were jailed on suspicion of possession of a schedule I controlled substance, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Morrison allegedly tried to destroy evidence. The arrests happened after a traffic stop in the 500 block of 28 1/2 Road.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
• A woman in the 600 block of Oxbow Drive reported Friday that several men were removing items from a friend’s nearby house.
Officers eventually went to the home and found drug paraphernalia. The information was forwarded to the Western Colorado Drug Task Force.
