Woman struck by car dies
An unidentified 53-year-old Basalt woman died Friday morning after she was struck by a car while standing next to Colorado Highway 82, according to Colorado State Patrol.
A 2003 Ford Ranger driven by 52-year-old Dawn A. Miller of Carbondale had been traveling eastbound in the right lane of Highway 82 when her vehicle struck the woman in the right lane of the highway shortly before 2 a.m.
Miller was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation. The identity of the deceased will not be released pending notification of family, the State Patrol said.
According to Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Abraham Romero-Ramirez, 31, was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of third-degree assault, child abuse, second-degree kidnapping, and domestic violence in the northwest area of the city
■ James Cartee, 47, was issued a summons Tuesday on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $50 from City Market at 200 Rood Ave.
■ Theresa McCaw 45, was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of possession of a schedule II controlled substance, two schedule III controlled substances, one schedule IV controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.
■ Mathew Brunner, 34, was issued a summons Tuesday on suspicion of menacing another male with a knife near 2867 Orchard Ave.
■ Someone removed property valued at less than $300 from a vehicle at 233 North First St. on Monday.
According to Garfield County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Nouveau Kay Boschee, 31, of Parachute, was jailed Thursday on suspicion of reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, child abuse, harassment and other charges.
■ Cathy Lanette Thomas, 43, of Rifle, was issued a summons Thursday on suspicion of second-degree assault.
