Hiker, 49, collapses, dies

Montrose County authorities are investigating the Monday death of a 49-year-old woman who collapsed while hiking in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.Tracey Lister, of Lakewood, died Monday afternoon on the Gunnison River trail, a press release from Montrose County said Wednesday.

Her body was recovered by park rangers, and the Montrose County Coroner took custody of her remains.

The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, rangers of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and the Montrose County Coroner’s Office are investigating Lister’s death. An autopsy has been ordered and the cause and manner of Lister’s death are still under investigation.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Brittany Jones, 26, Allen Salazar, 24, and Hailey Erickson, 24, were all accused of drug-related charges on June 28.

■ Leah Burgess, 32, is accused of violating a protection order on July 7.

■ A bicycle valued at more than $2,500 was stolen in the 400 block of Fox Run on July 8.

■ Benjamin Thorp, 25, was cited on suspicion of fourth-degree arson on Sunday.

 

According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Andrew Pacheco, 42, was cited on suspicion of disregarding the fire ban Tuesday.

■ Fabian Almanza, 45, was cited on suspicion of disregarding the fire ban Tuesday.

■ Donavin Ray Denton, 23, is accused of third-degree assault and domestic violence.
