High bonds in drug arrests
Three more people caught up in a widespread local wiretap investigation were advised on high-level drug charges Thursday, and issued high cash-only bonds in their cases.
Leonard Edwards Jr., 54, was issued a $100,000 cash-only bond; Laci Johnson, 31, got a $50,000 cash-only bond; and Larry Johnson, 33, was issued a $75,000 cash-only bond in court on Thursday.
Prosecutors said that 27 pounds of methamphetamine and multiple firearms were seized in connection with the arrests of the three suspects.
Numerous suspects were arrested in June in connection with the ongoing eight-month investigation that has spanned multiple states and included the Grand Junction Police Department, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Arrest records are still under seal pending the investigation.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Carri Bracha, 36, is accused of child abuse July 4.
■ Brady Sipe, 31, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting June 30.
■ Charly Bruce, 36, is accused of burglary, theft, attempted criminal mischief and domestic violence Sunday.
■ Tyler Christian, 25, is accused of drug possession and other offenses Monday.
■ Roberta Smith, 48, was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief Monday.
■ Tori Jorgenson, 24, is accused of shoplifting, drug possession and other offenses Tuesday.
■ Benny Martinez, 39, is accused of criminal mischief and harassment Wednesday.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Edward Hardrick, 39, is accused of drug-related offenses July 5.
■ Andy Seltzer, 52, is accused of drug possession and other offenses July 7.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Matthew Mahan, 43, is accused of tampering with evidence and resisting arrest Wednesday.
■ Someone burglarized an address in the 13700 block of Carefree Drive on Wednesday.
