Man jailed on gun charge
A man was jailed late Friday after numerous law enforcement officers responded to calls of shots fired at the Candlewood Trailer Park in Clifton, causing police to issue a shelter-in-place alert to local residents, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies from that office, along with officers from the Grand Junction Police Department and the Colorado State Patrol, went to the C&F Food Store in Clifton just before 11 p.m. and arrested the man, who was later identified as William Moore, 36.
Moore was jailed on suspicion of possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Deputies later located the man’s gun, the office said.
