An 18-year-old Grand Junction man is accused of using a torch to break into a safe and steal nearly $17,000 worth of weapons and ammunition in February, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
Steven Taylor Cook appeared in Mesa County Court on Wednesday on suspicion of theft from an at-risk adult, second-degree burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, criminal mischief and conspiracy.
According to an arrest affidavit, Cook and 18-year-old MaCade Gary Bronson visited a juvenile who lived at a residence in the area of 12 Road in Loma in order to check for ways to break into an outbuilding and steal guns that were stored there.
