Meth suspect arrested
Paul David Mason, 39, 306 Chipeta Ave., No. 1, was arrested Thursday night at his home on suspicion of possessing more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, unprescribed Oxycontin, psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department, the Grand Junction Police Department SWAT team executed a search warrant at Mason’s residence Thursday night and Mason was detained without struggle.
Once there, according to an arrest affidavit, officers found the drugs in various locations around the apartment, as well as ammunition and two loaded handguns.
At the time of his arrest, Mason was under a felony bond from an arrest earlier this year.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ On June 19, a man used a machete to threaten another man with whom he was having an argument in the 2500 block of Madison Avenue.
■ A dirt bike valued at more than $2,000 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Colex Drive on July 10.
■ Barbara Canada, 25, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at Walmart, 2881 North Ave., on an outstanding warrant and also was issued a summons on suspicion of theft.
■ Rebecca Henley, 20, was issued a summons Tuesday evening at City Market, 200 Rood Ave., on suspicion of shoplifting.
■ Property valued at less than $300 was stolen Thursday morning from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2800 block of Village Park Drive.
■ Items valued at less than $300 were stolen Thursday morning from a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Gunnison Avenue.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Christian Alexander Barber, 23, was issued a summons early Friday morning at Western Convenience, 2998 North Ave., on suspicion of feinting with his fists at a store customer and threatening to hit Mesa County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Mesa County Jail staff.
