Man accused of assault
A 46-year-old Grand Junction man is accused of attacking and strangling a woman on Friday, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
Marc Andrew Stortz is accused of felony assault with the intent to cause bodily injury, domestic violence and criminal mischief.
According to an arrest affidavit, Stortz contacted the female victim at her home in the 500 block of Court Road early Friday morning.
He allegedly took her phone from her and threw it in the street, and then threw her on the ground and started choking her and telling her to die.
When the victim attempted to drive away, Stortz allegedly jumped on the hood of her car and said he wasn’t letting go.
Mesa County Judge Bruce Raaum ordered a personal-recognizance bond and GPS monitoring in the case.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Anne Call, 41, was arrested in the area of 12th Street and Ute Avenue on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence on Wednesday.
■ An abandoned vehicle was reported in the area of U.S. Highway 65.
■ A lost license plate was reported in the 500 block of West Willow Court.
