Homeless man accused of intent to distribute meth

A homeless man riding in a car pulled over by police Thursday evening was later arrested on suspicion of felony drug charges, after a backpack found in the vehicle contained a large amount of drugs and allegedly was the man’s property.

Josh Wilson, 32, was advised Friday of possible charges of drug possession and possession with intent to distribute.

According to an arrest record, a police dog alerted to the presence of drugs and a backpack that was allegedly between Wilson’s feet was found to contain 29 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and hundreds of baggies. A leather pouch connected to a necklace Wilson was wearing also contained 12 grams of methamphetamine, authorities said.

Wilson was issued a $5,000 cash-only bond on Friday.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Dezyrae Hess, 30, is accused of violating bail-bond conditions and drug-related crimes on Wednesday.

■ A vehicle was allegedly stolen from the 500 block of Fruitwood Drive on Wednesday.

■ Deputies responded to a reported vandalism in the 400 block of 32 Road on June 18.
