Man jailed after incident
A Clifton man who was “not law-enforcement friendly” was jailed Monday after an incident in the 3200 block of Main Street, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, Paul Henry Madore, 28, was jailed on suspicion of felony menacing, two counts of disorderly conduct and obstruction of government operations.
According to his arrest affidavit, Madore was “threatening neighbors with knives and having problems with multiple different neighbors” after deputies were first dispatched to the residence earlier in the evening.
During that earlier encounter with deputies, Madore formed his hand in the shape of a gun and pretended to shoot, saying,“Read the (expletive) Constitution and get the (expletive) outta here,” the affidavit alleges.
“I observed Paul did not have a real weapon in his hands but observed what appeared to be a can resembling an alcoholic beverage container,” deputy Joshua Bunch wrote in the affidavit. “Paul would continually yell at us stating he was an Army vet and has, ‘killed 19 Iraqis.’ He repeatedly screamed about the number of people he killed.”
Numerous deputies returned later in the evening, and after some doing, transported Madore to the Mesa County Detention Center.
