Arrest in home burglary
Corey Francis Smith, 28, Clifton, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of second-degree burglary and theft of property valued at more than $20,000, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Smith is suspected of entering an unlocked home in the 2500 block of Music Lane sometime between Dec. 26, 2012, and Jan. 2, 2013, and taking numerous items, including jewelry, electronics and a coffee maker, according to an arrest warrant. Some of the items were found in an apartment leased to Smith’s wife, according to the warrant, while others had been pawned or sold.
Smith worked for a cleaning company that had worked in the burglarized home last July.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Nathan White, 49, was issued a summons June 15 on suspicion of disorderly conduct in the 2300 block of U.S. Highway 6&50.
■ A thief stole about $22,000 in cash and property June 11 from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Rosemary Way.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ William Ralph Johnson, 37, was arrested Thursday at 29 Road and Pinyon Avenue on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, possession of a sawed-off shotgun by a previous offender, tampering with physical evidence and violation of bail bond conditions.
