Man cited in park fracas
Kenneth Sample, 43, was ticketed Thursday on suspicion of disorderly conduct after he was allegedly observed trying to fight another man in Sherwood Park, according to a summons. The documents don’t explain the nature of the alleged dispute.
While being interviewed by officers, Sample allegedly threatened and “came at” a witness to the earlier incident, while he also allegedly threatened the officers, the summons said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Brianna Compton, 18, was cited Saturday on suspicion of underage possession of alcohol at 673B Gemstone Court.
■ A bicycle valued at more than $1,000 was reported stolen Thursday from 1237 Bookcliff Ave.
■ An investigation was opened after a woman was reportedly sexually assaulted in the western part of the city. There is a known suspect in the case.
■ Kim Fuerst, 62, was cited Thursday on suspicion of theft at 707 Horizon Drive.
■ Samantha Stansberry, 21, was cited Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 2881 North Ave.
■ Officers investigating trespassing reports May 9 at separate properties near the intersection of Wagon Trail and Saddlehorn contacted a juvenile male, who allegedly lied about his identity. The boy was wanted on a felony escape warrant. He was booked at Grand Mesa Youth Services Center.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday did not release jail booking or activity reports.
