Victim of crash identified

A man who died early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash on the Redlands was identified Monday as a 34-year-old Grand Junction resident.

Kevin Truong was driving an Audi at 3:40 a.m. in the area between Greenbelt Drive and Broadway when his car hit a light pole, ejecting him, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

Truong was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries, the Police Department said.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office said Truong died of multiple injuries and the manner of death was accident.

Truong had alcohol in his system at the time of the crash, authorities said.

Man dies in Saturday crash

Michael Alan Wagner, 49, of Fridley, Minn., died of multiple traumatic injuries in a two-vehicle crash Saturday southeast of Montrose, according to the Montrose County Coroner’s Office.

The accident happened just before 5 p.m. on U.S. Highway 550 South near Government Springs Road.

The Montrose County Coroner’s Office of Medical Investigations and the Colorado State Patrol are investigating the crash.

Death of horse reported

The owner of a miniature pony reported on Friday that her animal was either beaten or poisoned the previous night in a field in the 3100 block of C 1/2 Road, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman said her mini pony, 6 years old, had blood coming from both its mouth and hind end.

The animal already had been buried when the woman made the report so a “toxicology” report couldn’t be taken. She just wanted the report documented for future reference if necessary.

This incident was reported Feb. 17.

Other items were stolen from the home, which was ransacked and vandalized, the Sheriff’s Office said.
