Drunken girl hospitalized

A Glenwood Springs woman is accused of providing alcohol to a 17-year-old girl who ended up in the hospital with a blood alcohol level of 0.240, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

Glenna Mae Browning, 35, is suspected of third-degree assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and serving someone under the age of 21.

A person who let Browning, her two children, a friend and the 17-year-old girl stay at her apartment on Jan. 1 returned home to find “Glenna and all of the kids drinking alcohol,” the arrest affidavit alleges.

The woman who lives at the apartment said she was concerned the 17-year-old — later determined to be a runaway from the Rifle area — “had been drugged,” according to deputies, and she was eventually taken to the hospital.

In addition to rum and beer, the girl claimed that Browning “had also given her ‘meth,’” according to the affidavit, and the woman who lives at the apartment reported missing a large amount of prescription medication as well.
