Harassment suspect jailed
Christopher Scott Shelton, 31, 650 South Ave., was arrested Wednesday evening on suspicion of several counts of harassment.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, Shelton was arrested in the 2600 block of Gunnison Avenue after causing pain, injury and alarm to several victims, including his girlfriend. He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of harassment involving strikes, shoves or kicks.
Shelton also was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and violating a protection order after it was shown he was intoxicated at the time of the assault, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ A 13-year-old girl was issued a summons Monday morning in the 500 block of 29 1/4 Road on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
■ A female was sexually assaulted in the southeast quadrant of Grand Junction early Tuesday morning.
■ Teresa Johnson, 27, was issued a summons early Wednesday morning in the 700 block of Horizon Drive on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.
■ A 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-old girls were issued summonses in the 1100 block of Colorado Avenue on Wednesday morning on suspicion of possessing marijuana and tobacco.
■ Gilberto Madrid, 62, was issued a summons Wednesday evening in the 1000 block of North Ninth Street on suspicion of trespassing in a motor vehicle.
■ A vehicle parked in the 900 block of Northern Way was damaged Wednesday night, causing a loss of less than $500.
■ An item valued at less than $500 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Autumn Glenn on Wednesday night.
■ Rory Alan Reynolds, 21, 534 Garland Court, was arrested during a traffic stop Thursday evening at North First Street and Belford Avenue on suspicion of possessing less than 2 grams of methamphetamine.
■ Angel Tophaha, 38, was issued a summons Thursday night at Lowe’s, 2525 Rimrock Ave., on suspicion of receiving stolen license plates that were placed on her vehicle by a known male.
■ James Smith, 26, was issued a summons early Friday morning on suspicion of disorderly conduct, obstructing a peace officer and being intoxicated in a roadway after being contacted for fighting near Sixth and Main streets.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ A 3-year-old boy was discovered wandering alone down 32 1/8 Road on Thursday morning; the child had also left his home alone Sunday and March 16. The boy’s mother, Jamie Lampman, 21, was issued a summons on suspicion of child abuse/negligence without injury.
■ Mitchell David Smith, 22, 2713 D 1/2 Road, No. 11, was arrested early Friday morning in the 600 block of Peace Drive on suspicion of trying to break into a truck that wasn’t his.
According to the Palisade Police Department:
■ Investigation is ongoing on a report that an aggressive dog chased and may have bitten a juvenile runner March 12.
■ Officers responded to a verbal disturbance in the 800 block of South Iowa Avenue on March 13, which was initiated by an 18-year-old female moving out of her parents’ home. All were informed of their rights and the disagreement was resolved.
■ A dog was reported lost March 16 and then later found.
■ A west-facing door was reported being open March 16 at the Palisade Municipal Gym; a responding officer found the gym being used for a youth basketball camp and the door propped open for fresh air.
