For families of meth users
A six-week support group for families of methamphetamine users starts Wednesday. The meetings are scheduled at 7 p.m. at River of Life Alliance Church, 701 24 1/2 Road, and designed to help family members cope with the pain of having a drug addict in their lives.
Topics of discussion include setting boundaries, detachment, hidden anger, guilt, manipulation and forgiveness. The free Share and Care group is sponsored by Mesa County’s Meth Task Force. For information, go to http://www.methfree.mesacounty.us.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
• A juvenile girl was found in possession of stolen items valued at less than $1,000 in the area of 2680 B 1/2 Road. The girl was released to her mother.
• Ryan Scheffer, 21, received a summons on suspicion of driving under suspension, having no proof of insurance, displaying fictitious plates and not wearing a seat belt, after being contacted in the area of Seventh Street and Gunnison Avenue.
• Joseph Maher, 26, received a summons on suspicion of careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol after being contacted in the 500 block of North Avenue.
