The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about suspicious, fraudulent phone callers who tell people they have won a sweepstakes drawing and are asked for their credit card information.
A Mesa County woman who received the calls noted the phone numbers appeared to be coming from: 970-128-4946; 970-175-1856; 970-167-1389; 970-154-8638; or 970-194-9817.
The resident called back one of numbers she was called from and was connected to a country in the Middle East, although the phone number appeared to come from a local area code.
