Menacing alleged in arrest
Police have accused Michael Irwin, 30, of felony menacing and harassment after he allegedly made explicit threats against a family member on Thursday in the 400 block of 32 Road in Grand Junction.
According to an arrest affidavit, a reporting party said Irwin threatened to “take the whole family out.” When police asked Irwin what he meant, he allegedly “couldn’t tell me until it actually happened,” the officer wrote in his report.
A police investigation showed that Irwin threatened to “stab and kill” the family member, but never threatened the victim directly with a knife. Police did find a large knife, however, sitting in plain view in Irwin’s truck, parked nearby, according to the report.
