Man’s body found near Moab
• Authorities have recovered the body of an 18-year-old Arizona man who was presumed drowned in Mill Creek east of Moab, according to Grand County, Utah, officials.
Shanovan Miller of Round Rock was last seen by his friends near Power Dam around 6:30 p.m. Friday. They reported him missing late that night to the Grand County Sheriff’s Department.
Rescue teams found recovered Miller’s body submerged in up to 14 feet of water sometime over the weekend. The body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
• Randall L. Phillips, 2320 Monument Road, was arrested and booked into Mesa County Jail on Sunday on suspicion of felony aggravated driving because of a revoked license and misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired.
• Mark S. Juner, 51, on Sunday, received a summons for allegedly shoplifting items valued at less than $500 from Wal-Mart at 2545 Rimrock Ave.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
• William Jobin-Acosta, 19, 864 Bunting Ave. on Sunday, was arrested and booked into Mesa County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault, bail bond violation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts of possession of alcohol by an underage person, serving or giving alcohol to an underage person and false reporting to authorities.
