Report: Durango suspects found in Chaffee County

A car being driven through the area Sunday night by people alleged to have connections to a homicide in Durango earlier that morning was found Monday by the Colorado State Patrol in Chaffee County, according to media reports.

The Durango Herald reported that the three people were taken into custody after a trooper recognized the suspect vehicle.

The homicide victim was identified Monday as David Antonio Gaytan, 34, who was killed in the Lightner Creek Mobile Home Park west of Durango.

The car was believed to be in various locations along U.S. Highway 50 on Sunday evening, near Whitewater at one point.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Someone removed more than $500 worth of property from a residence in the 3000 block of D Road on May 8.

■ Nicholas Canchola, 26, was cited on suspicion of DUI on Friday.

■ Casey Krogman, 32, is accused of violating a restraining order on Sunday.

 

According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Devin R. Benally, 25, Montrose, is accused of violating a protection order, violating bail-bond conditions and trespassing on Friday.

■ Ryan E. Laskey, 33, is accused of domestic violence and harassment on Friday.

■ Daryle J. Herger, 26, Montrose, is accused of reckless endangerment, felony menacing and criminal mischief on Friday.

■ John D. Gann, 25, Montrose, is accused of DUI on Friday.

■ Emiliano Matias-Lopez, 25, Gunnison, is accused of domestic violence and third-degree assault on Friday.

■ Tony L. Buck, 41, Montrose, is accused of violating a protection order on Friday.

■ Marissa M. Huddleston, 22, Ouray, is accused of third-degree assault on Saturday.

■ Kahmal A. Amaya, 24, Montrose, is accused of prohibited use of a weapon Sunday.

■ Karan D. Haag, 57, Olathe, is accused of DUI, reckless driving and reckless endangerment on Sunday.

■ Christian P. Silos-Rojero, 35, Montrose, is accused of domestic violence, harassment, disorderly conduct, reckless driving, false imprisonment and failure to report an accident on Sunday.

■ Enrique Fuentes, 47, Commerce City, is accused of violating a protection order and violating bail-bond conditions on Sunday.
