Cops apprehend suspect
A man wanted on a warrant for drug-related charges was caught about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, after fleeing from law enforcement since Friday night and prompting a shelter-in-place advisory for residents in the 31 and C roads area.
The man, described as white, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with a goatee and tattoos on his head, was believed to be in the 31 and C roads area late Friday night, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, when deputies and officers with the Grand Junction Police Department began searching for him.
He was believed to be armed, according to the Sheriff’s Office, so the shelter-in-place advisory was issued Saturday morning.
The man was found Saturday morning in the 300 block of Acoma Drive, according to the Sheriff’s Office, where he obeyed the command to surrender and did so without incident. The shelter-in-place advisory was lifted soon after.
