Woman accused of assault
Vickie Valdez, 41, was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of assault, among other charges.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, Valdez hit a man she knew, causing injury. The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Belford Avenue.
Valdez also damaged the man’s personal property during the incident, causing a loss of less than $100, according to Grand Junction police.
Valdez was booked into the Mesa County Jail.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Dana Alires, 19, was issued a summons May 13 on suspicion of stealing a bicycle valued at less than $100 from the 200 block of 27 Road.
■ Cathy Thomas, 42, was issued a summons May 13 on suspicion of shoplifting from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.
■ Billy Young, 38, was issued a summons Wednesday evening on suspicion of shoplifting from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.
■ Brian Sones, 29, was arrested Wednesday evening on suspicion of violating a protection order and bail bond conditions.
■ Jaben Lawson, 22, was arrested Wednesday night at North Fifth Street and Chipeta Avenue on suspicion of consuming alcohol in violation of a court order.
■ Jordan Largent, 19, was issued a summons Wednesday night at Santa Clara Avenue and Lamplight Road on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia.
■ Paul Carkhuff, 43, was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of assaulting a woman he knows in the 300 block of Belford Avenue.
■ A known man fraudulently tried to get a prescription for a controlled substance in the 200 block of West Park Drive on Thursday morning.
■ Leslie Stroup, 51, was issued a summons Thursday morning on suspicion of trespassing in the 2900 block of Patterson Road.
■ A thief entered a closed locker in the Colorado Mesa University student recreation center Thursday evening and stole items valued at less than $500.
■ Clifford Brooks, 25, was issued a summons Thursday night in the 2300 block of U.S. Highway 6&50 on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
■ A vehicle valued at less than $20,000 was stolen early Saturday morning from the 1200 block of Texas Avenue.
