Gun theft suspect booked

A Grand Junction man who was arrested on suspicion of stealing a handgun on Saturday has been jailed in connection to the reported theft and several other possible crimes, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

David Arthur Barnes, 48, was taken to the Mesa County Jail on Tuesday on suspicion of theft, second-degree burglary, criminal possession of an identification document, criminal possession of a financial device, criminal impersonation, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, possession of burglary tools, being a special offender and being a fugitive from another jurisdiction.

The theft and subsequent arrest caused the lockdown of at least two schools on Orchard Mesa as police searched for Barnes.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

■ Harvey Emery Bradley, 92, of Loma was jailed Wednesday on suspicion of obstruction of a telephone or telegraph device, harassment and crimes against at-risk adults and at-risk juveniles.

■ Eric Wynne Cutler, 47, of Grand Junction was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of providing false information on a pawn slip, theft by receiving, and forgery.

■ Michael Anthony Roybal, 48, of Grand Junction was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree burglary and shoplifting.

■ Steven Leslie Wright, 31, of Grand Junction was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief and second-degree burglary.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Hugh Luaizk, 41, was issued a summons May 14 on suspicion of theft of less than $100 at 200 Rood Ave.

■ David Bridgett, 19, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of possession of marijuana by a person under the age of 21 in the 1400 block of Mesa Avenue.

■ Matthew Apodaca, 19, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of possession of marijuana by a person under the age of 21 in the 1400 block of Mesa Avenue.

■ Justin Criswell, 26, was issued a summons Sunday on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise valued at less than $100 from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

■ Brandon Workman, 40, was issued a summons Sunday on suspicion of indecent exposure in the 400 block of Chipeta Avenue.

■ Someone took two bicycles valued at more than $1,000 from a home in the 500 block of Belford Avenue on Sunday.

■ Someone took items valued at less than $500 from a vehicle in the 900 block of Teller Avenue on Sunday.

■ Someone stole a vehicle valued at more than $1,000 from a home in the 200 block of Rood Avenue on April 19.

■ Someone caused a loss of more than $500 after breaking into a Pepsi machine Friday located in the 600 block of West Colorado Avenue.

■ Someone took items valued at about $500 from two vehicles Friday in the 1400 block of Fourth Avenue.

■ Someone removed property valued at less than $5,000 from a residence in the 200 block of Pitkin Avenue on April 13.

■ Someone stole a vehicle valued at less than $1,000 from a home in the 2800 block of North Avenue on Tuesday.

■ Jacob Pierce, 18, was issued a summons Tuesday on suspicion of shoplifting.
