Driver arrested after crash
Stephanie Compton, 29, was contacted by officers on Wednesday after driving her vehicle into a ditch in the 400 block of 28 1/2 Road. Compton was arrested on suspicion of careless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, tampering with an interlock device and failing to provide proof of insurance.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Mitchell Yater, 21, received a summons on May 20 on suspicion of theft from a home in the 1900 block of Main Street.
■ James T. Thompson, 52, received a summons on May 20 on suspicion of unlawfully trespassing on property in the 500 block of 25 1/2 Road.
■ Ezekiel Waltz, 18, received a summons on suspicion of assaulting another man in the 700 block of Horizon Drive on Thursday. Waltz also was accused of causing property damage of less than $500 in the incident.
■ Someone unlawfully entered a vehicle in the 500 block of Heidel Street on Wednesday.
■ Someone stole a vehicle valued at more than $2,000 from the 500 block of Crestwood Avenue on Thursday.
■ Someone stole items valued at about $2,000 from a person in the 2900 block of Bonito Avenue on Thursday.
■ Lisa Looney was arrested Friday on suspicion of attempting to persuade a witness to testify on her behalf, and making threats. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Belhaven Way.
■ Manuel Franco, 18, received a summons on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana possession, hit and run, leaving the scene of a crash, not having proof of insurance and careless driving after being contacted by officers in the area of 17th Street and Rood Avenue on Friday.
■ Michael James Windscheffel, 29, was contacted by officers at the corner of 29 Road and Unaweep Avenue on Friday. Windscheffel was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a protection order.
■ Kristopher Jensen, 32, received a summons on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass of a vehicle in the 400 block of Ouray Avenue on Saturday.
■ Vicki Ramsey, 43, and Douglas Mock, 50, each received a summons on suspicion of illegally using the Colorado Riverfront Trail near the 1300 block of South Fifth Street on Wednesday.
■ Paul Stenuig, 61, received a summons on suspicion of abusing toxic vapors in the 400 block of Main Street on Wednesday.
■ Officers took a report that a girl was sexually assaulted by an unknown man about 10 years ago somewhere in Grand Junction.
■ Kyle Kuegler, 24, received a summons on suspicion of indecent exposure for urinating in public.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department did not list any crime reports on Sunday.
