Injured man in crash ID’d

Christopher Squires, 23, Grand Junction, was identified Monday as the man seriously injured when he was thrown from a Ford Mustang in a Saturday crash at the intersection of 17 1/4 Road and K 3/4 Road near Fruita, the Colorado State Patrol said.

Tyler Dingmann, 18, of Fruita, who also was thrown from the car, was previously identified as the man killed in the crash.

Squires was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation, State Patrol said.

Noise complaint cost $100

A 55-year-old Grand Junction man was ticketed and fined $100 Sunday after authorities were called to his home in the 200 block of Little Park Court for the second time in the past six months on a noise complaint, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

Although the man had parked two trailers on his property to block the noise, an officer could still hear “Greased
Lightning” being played “unnecessarily loud” as he walked toward the Grand Junction man’s house, an incident report said.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

■ Felicia Marie Mares, 33, 2957 Parkway Drive, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, child abuse without injury and possession of drug paraphernalia after a U.S. Forest Service ranger and a Bureau of Land Management employee contacted her near
26 3/8 Road and the Gunnison River for illegally camping overnight. They then allegedly found drugs inside her vehicle along with her two children.

■ Kyle Edward Hayes, 20, 2783 Hartford Court, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of theft of $1,000 to $19,999 and second-degree burglary.

■ A man reported Sunday that a $50 curl bar from his Gold’s Gym Wider 245 weight system was stolen from his backyard.

■ A woman lost power to her house Sunday in the 400 block of Morning Dove Drive and discovered a thief had stolen a $100 part from her home’s electric meter.

Xcel Energy fixed the meter and said the missing part was easy to remove but “extremely dangerous” for anyone to try and take out.

■ Tools valued at more than $1,300 reportedly were stolen Sunday from a truck parked in the 200 block of Peach Street.

■ About $700 in damage was done to the Redbox rental machine May 21 outside Walgreens, 572 32 Road.
