Man arrested at Walmart
Kyle Edward Meyer, 19, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion stealing a pair of shoes from Walmart and threatening asset protection officers with a stun gun.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, Meyer was contacted after asset protection officers saw him take off the slippers he’d worn into the store, put on the white sneakers and put the slippers in the shoe box on the shelf. He also took a pair of socks, according to an arrest affidavit, for a total loss of $37.61. When attempting to contact Meyer as he left the store, the officers said he pulled the stun gun from a case on his belt and brandished it at them, according to the affidavit.
Meyer and another male ran away and were contacted on Harris Avenue by a Mesa County sheriff’s deputy, according to the affidavit. As he was searched, officers discovered a black sock in his underwear that contained methamphetamine in a baggie, a glass smoking pipe, two Percocet pills and two Tramadol pills, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Meyer was arrested on suspicion of robbery, shoplifting and possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
