Man accused of intent to distribute meth
Joshua Stewart Powers, 30, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and a failure to appear warrant in the 2400 block of Teller Avenue on Thursday.
According to an affidavit, Powers was detained by a police officer for an outstanding warrant while walking through a construction site. The officer allegedly searched Powers and found three grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale with methamphetamine residue.
Powers was issued a $2,500 cash-only bond in the case.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Cinder blocks were stolen in the 100 block of Carol Court on May 16.
■ An assault was reported in the area of 34 Road and C Road on May 20.
■ Deputies responded to reports of a burglary in the 3200 block of Springfield Road on May 22.
■ Amanda McGowan, 31, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence and drug-related charges in the 500 block of Ravenwood Lane.
■ A 15-year-old boy was issued a summons on suspicion of theft in the 600 block of Orion Street on Thursday.
■ An assault was reported in the 200 block of 27 Road on Thursday.
■ Someone tried to steal a gun safe from a garage in the 100 block of Bel Mont Street on Friday.
■ David Hurlbut, 38, was arrested on suspicion of assault and domestic violence in the 400 block of Glendale Way on Saturday.
