3 cited for graffiti in Delta
Jose F. Gonzales, 18, of Delta, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of destruction of property and Jose M. Felix, 27, of Delta, was arrested on suspicion of complicity in destruction of property in connection to local incidents of graffiti being spray-painted on buildings, according to the Delta Police Department.
A 17-year-old Delta boy was issued a summons on suspicion of destruction of property as well.
The Delta Police Department took multiple reports April 29 and April 30 of graffiti on buildings, including structures at 102 Grand Ave. and 620 Main St.
An officer found fresh graffiti on a fence Wednesday morning in the 600 block of Riley Lane and contacted a male in the area. Further investigation led to the arrests of Gonzales and Felix and the citation for the juvenile.
Dog finds suspected meth
Cruz Rosario Moroyoqui-Barreras, 29, was arrested Friday evening in Loma on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, an immigration violation, a special offender count, and two counts of child abuse, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
Moroyoqui-Barreras was driving east on Interstate 70 when deputies stopped him at the Loma exit for allegedly failing to stop at the stop sign at the end of the off-ramp, according to an arrest affidavit.
A police dog sniffed the outside of the vehicle and indicated an odor of drugs coming from the driver’s side door. Once inside the vehicle, the dog indicated the odor of drugs in the center of the car’s dash, and a deputy found the vehicle’s CD player had been removed to create a compartment. Two packages that together contained about one pound of suspected methamphetamine were found inside the compartment, police said.
Cruz told deputies he was driving from Phoenix to Fruita, according to the affidavit. There was another adult in the vehicle, as well as two children.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Raymond Spencer, 27, was arrested on suspicion of hit and run, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under restraint.
■ Brian Sones, 29, was arrested at 2847 North Ave. on suspicion of third-degree assault, reckless endangerment, harassment, and criminal mischief.
■ Matthew Apodaca, 19, was arrested April 26 on suspicion of stealing property valued at less than $500 and obstructing police officers at Colorado Mesa University, 1455 N. 12th St. He was booked into the Mesa County Jail on an outstanding warrant.
■ Three unknown males assaulted victims, causing minor injury, and attempted to rob the victims Sunday at 1301 Sherwood Drive.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Kristin Roberts, 29, was arrested Friday on suspicion of third-degree assault after allegedly spitting on a nurse at the St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Room, 2635 N. Seventh St.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:
■ A deputy responded to a 911 hang-up early Sunday morning in the 63300 block of Oak Grove Road. All people at the address denied making the call.
After finding the phone off its cradle, it was determined dogs may have accidentally pushed buttons on the phone.
