DUI citation at school
Katrina Jones, 35, was cited on suspicion of child abuse and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after a Mesa County sheriff’s deputy was called to Clifton Elementary, 3276 F Road, around 4 p.m. Monday on a report of an intoxicated parent trying to drive a student home from school. School staff had contacted Jones in the parking lot and tried to prevent her from driving away with her 5-year-old son buckled in the backseat of her vehicle, according to a court summons. Jones allegedly failed roadside sobriety tests in the parking lot.
