Incident near business
Wayne P. Fontaine, 57, address unavailable, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of trespassing after he was observed by officers trying to get inside a caged area near a business in the 2800 block of North Avenue, according to the Grand Junction Police Department. Fontaine was accused of backing his vehicle into a fence, then fleeing in a reckless manner when officers tried to stop him, police said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ A known female suspect tried to obtain cash through fraudulent means at First National Bank of the Rockies, 2775 Acrin Ave. The incident was reported Oct. 26.
■ Less than $500 in property was missing after a vehicle was entered in the 2900 block of Paula Lane. It was reported Oct. 17.
■ Less than $500 in property was removed from a parked vehicle in the 2900 block of Paula Lane on Saturday.
■ Property valued at less than $500 was removed from a parked vehicle Saturday in the 400 block of Bear Dance Drive.
■ Treyhurn Hillyer, 18, and a juvenile suspect, were cited on suspicion of theft from the 2500 block of Rimrock Avenue on Saturday.
■ A juvenile boy was cited Nov. 15 on suspicion of taking less than $500 in property from Walmart, 2881 North Ave. The boy allegedly used the stolen product to abuse toxic vapors.
■ Someone forced entry to a home in the 2100 block of Piazza Way on Nov. 12, although nothing was reported stolen from the home.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Deputies were called Sunday to handle a loud party complaint in the 3300 block of South Highland Drive.
■ Deputies took a report of a stolen vehicle Nov. 15 in the 3200 block of the Interstate 70 Business Loop in Clifton.
■ Deputies handled a noise complaint Nov. 13 in the 500 block of 29 Road.
■ A burglary was reported at a home in the 3000 block of B Road on Nov. 9.
■ Deputies and search and rescue personnel were called Nov. 10 on a report of overdue hunters in the area of Indian Point on Grand Mesa. They were found at Flowing Park and escorted out.
■ Deputies found a car stereo system on the ground off the shoulder of Interstate 70, mile marker 42 on Oct. 24. It was booked into the evidence.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Richard Wille, 63, of Parachute, was arrested Friday on suspicion of menacing and disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a fight call at 143 Silver Queen Circle, Parachute. James Mower, 47, of Parachute, was cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct after an investigation of the same incident.
■ Scott Markiecki, 41, of New Castle, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of child abuse after deputies were called to 5033 County Road 335 near New Castle.
■ Deputies were called Friday to an unattended death in the Carbondale area. The case remains open.
