Counterfeit bills circulating

The Fruita Police Department is advising the local business community to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills.

The department posted on its Facebook page earlier this week that officers have taken several reports from local businesses getting scammed with counterfeit $20 and $5 bills. The counterfeit $20s have a serial number of JH33423025B.

Anyone who comes across what they think is a counterfeit bill or sees any suspicious activity should call police.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Someone forged a signature on a check in the 300 block of Pitkin Avenue on Oct. 24.

■ A 12-year-old was cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct in the 500 block of 29 ¼ Road on Nov. 17.

■ Joshua Buniger, 24, was cited on suspicion of indecent exposure Saturday.

■ Anja Farnese, 19, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting Saturday.

■ Samuel Bailey, 24, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting Saturday.

■ Two 15-year-old were cited on suspicion of shoplifting more than $1,000 in merchandise from Best Buy, 585 24 ½ Road, on Saturday.

■ Essence Henry, 18, was cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct Sunday.

■ Someone stole property worth less than $50 from a vehicle in the 2600 block of B ½ Road on Sunday.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Someone stole a vehicle from the 46000 block of KE Road on Nov. 2.

■ Someone stole property worth more than $200 during a burglary in the 2800 block of Arlington Villa Drive on Oct. 10.

■ Someone stole less than $100 in property from a vehicle in the 2800 block of Victoria Drive on Nov. 10.

■ Someone stole property from more than one vehicle in the 2800 block of Lexington Lane on Nov. 10.

■ Someone stole about $330 worth of property from a residence in the 3000 block of B ½ Road on Nov. 10, but left behind a large bag of marijuana.

■ Deputies are investigating a reported burglary in the 500 block of Gardner Way on Thursday.

■ Deputies took a harassment report in the 500 block of 29 Road on Tuesday.

■ Deputies took a harassment report in the 300 block of Sunnyside Circle on Thursday.

■ Someone stole a wedding ring from a vehicle in the 400 block of Keener Street on Thursday.

■ Deputies took a theft report in the 3200 block of East Downey Circle on Saturday.

■ Deputies took a report of stolen construction tools near the Cameo power plant Friday.

■ Misha Gutierrez, 30, was cited on suspicion of theft on Nov. 7.

■ Deputies took a sex assault report in the 3200 block of Downey Avenue on Saturday.

■ Deputies took an assault report in the 2900 block of North Avenue on Tuesday.

■ Deputies took a child abuse report in the 2900 block of Orchard Avenue Tuesday.

■ Joshua Spanicek, 30, and Shawna Fromang, 20, are each accused of drug- and weapon-related offenses Tuesday.

 

According to the Montrose Police Department:

■ Cheryl Rubbelke, 64, is accused of assault, obstruction of emergency medical services and bail bond violations Tuesday.
