Couple accused in incident
An Aurora man and a Grand Junction woman were jailed Nov. 18 for allegedly breaking into an automobile in the Grand Valley, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
David Chavez, 45, was taken to the Mesa County Jail on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass of an auto, criminal mischief of less than $300, theft from a motor vehicle of between $50 and $300, possession of burglary tools and a parole violation, according to the office.
At the same time, Gina Beth Puentes, 35, also was jailed on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass of an automobile, theft of between $50 and $300 from an automobile and criminal mischief of less than $300.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Someone committed criminal mischief in the 2700 block of Rincon Drive on Nov. 18.
■ Someone removed items from a vehicle in the 3100 block of Perkins Drive on Nov. 18.
■ Someone stole items valued at more than $200 from a vehicle in the 500 block of Warrior Way on Nov. 17.
According to the Glenwood Springs Police Department:
■ Erika Rivera DeCastillo, 40, of New Castle was issued a summons Nov. 11 on suspicion of shoplifting about $200 worth of merchandise from a city business.
■ Harry Paul Mathis, 33, of New Castle was issued a summons Nov. 11 on suspicion of driving on Interstate 70 while intoxicated.
